I’m not talking “Oh I read this lesser known classic by Charles Dickens”, I mean a book that’s truly never talked about because it probably fell out of print two hundred years ago.

I mean, what was a book you found, some old crusty dusty hardcover all yellow and falling apart that you grabbed at an antique store on a total whim, read it, and now absolutely love it if not were at least surprisingly entertained by? What obscure author did you discover that isn’t talked about anymore? What strange title caught your fancy and you’re so glad you gave it a chance? I want to know about the really out there stuff.

    1. My bf found a Rex Stout/Nero Wolfe book at the thrift for like, 1$. Written in the 1960s. It’s become one of my favorite series! I listen to so many of the audiobooks on Spotify too. Kinda sad because I’m switching to tidal next month, since they’re BDS safe and Spotify is not, and they don’t have any audiobooks. I can’t find the Nero Wolfe series narrated by Michael Pritchard anywhere else 🙁

I got my copy of Peyton Place at a grocery store fifty cent bin, and it’s one of my all time favorites now

The Day That I Die by PF Kluge is not TOO old (1976), but it is a little-known thriller that takes place in Micronesia, and was actually pretty good. I didn’t know much about Micronesia going in, so it was an interesting journey for me.
