    Haven't read a book in a years, I feel relaxed and the mood is striking me to read a book. I'm low IQ so nothing too crazy. The only books I've read for entertainment are Harry Potter and Series of Unfortunate Events. Everything else I've read I had to read for school or doesn't count (comics/manga.)

    1. Dungeon Crawler Carl.

      After an Alien invassion the world has colapsed and Carl has the option to enter a dungeon. This is a deadly gameshow that is like a videogame. He does this with his sassy cat Princess Donut.

    2. Murderbot.

      The books are novellas, so have fast pacing and an unintimidating page count. Plus they’re excellent.

    3. Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

      Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

      Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinnaman

      Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson (fantasy with very video-gamey style power)

      Read some fast-paced novellas! If you don’t love reading the worst thing that could happen is you losing steam halfway through a book that’s 350 pages long.

      There are some really entertaining, fast-paced short stories/novellas less than 300 pages. Here are a few I’d recommend:

      * [All Systems Red](https://bookshare.me/?isbn=9780765397522)
      * [Batman: The Killing Joke](https://bookshare.me/?isbn=9780930289454) (I know you said comics don’t count, but they count IMO).
      * A little longer, but [The Hike](https://bookshare.me/?isbn=9780399563850)

      Someone else already said Dungeon Crawler Carl. I loved it.

      If you want to experience reading but don’t have the patience to read books physically or digitally, you should absolutely try audiobooks.

      Magic 2.0 series by Scott Meyer. The first one I s called ‘Off to be the Wizard’.

    6. How about dead bodies?

      MARY ROACH –

      “Stiff : the curious lives of human cadavers”

      CAITLIN DOUGHTY –

      “ Will my cat eat my eyeballs? : big questions from tiny mortals about death”

      “ From here to eternity : traveling the world to find the good death”

      “ Smoke gets in your eyes : and other lessons from the crematory”

      JUDY MELINEK –

      “ Working stiff : two years, 262 bodies, and the making of a medical examiner”
