If you grew up getting yelled at, I would recommend Peaceful Parent Happy Kids…wish I had read it earlier in my parenting journey.
Cribsheet by Emily Oster also was a good read…there’s a lot of opinions out there about how to raise a kid so I appreciated an evidence based perspective.

For an overview of the nitty-gritty biological aspects, I suggest Expecting 411, Baby 411 and Toddler 411.
*The Attachment Parenting Book : A Commonsense Guide to Understanding and Nurturing Your Baby* by Dr. Sears is also very insightful.
