My uncle just got back into reading after borrowing my sister’s copy of Project Hail Mary. He’s never been much of a reader to my knowledge but he’s currently working through The Left Behind Series and he loves it. He’s reading brushing his teeth, walking around the house, and has forgone his usual nightly tv to get further in his books. He still talks about PHM to anyone who will listen and got my other uncle and dad to pick it up too.
I’m trying to get him another similar book or vibes to either PHM or Left Behind for Christmas.
He’s a sci fi guy (space but not star wars is all he told me).
PLEASE no smut/romance. I don’t think I could look him in the eye gifting that lol.

Exiles has a similar feel, as in it’s set near current day. It involves a mystery on Mars, small crew of humans and small crew of AI robots.
There’s also William by the same author, I’ve not read it yet but it gets good reviews.
There’s also the other books by the same author as Project Hail Mary if he hasn’t read those.
