Possibly the most famous example is Agatha Christie's Curtain – Poirot does die afterwards, but nobody except Hastings knows he killed Norman. Another example is one of the Lord Peter Wimsey short stories – The Abominable History of the Man with Copper Fingers – where Wimsey gets away with killing him (we all know it wasn't really accidental :p)
Note: I am NOT looking for Orient Express-type stories, where the detective solves the crime but thinks the culprits were justified; nor Roger Ackroyd-types where the "protagonist" is the murderer but very much doesn't get away with it.
Likely a very narrow selection to choose from here, but I'd still be very grateful if anyone had suggestions!

Dexter is a CSI rather than a detective but he investigates crimes and gets away with murder
The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga (edit: perhaps not a mystery novel but the protagonist does get away with murder)
The Fountain in the Forest by Tony White
