Fiction, self help, philosophy, biographies, poetry – any writing of any genre is okay. I'm looking for books that explore growth and development in times of solitude and isolation. Stories with characters that walked away from unhealthy relationships (friendships/romantic partners/family) and left their town/city/country behind for a new start, or books you'd recommend to someone that's going through these experiences. I'm in need of a solid reading list to keep the holiday blues at bay… all suggestions will be very welcomed!

This is what comes to mind (although not precisely what you are looking for):
1. A book of Simple Living by Ruskin Bond.
2. Siddhartha by Herman Hesse.
