I'm 19, and I've enjoyed reading pretty much for as long as I can remember being alive; I blasted through every YA series that parents/teachers got for me from the ages of like 8-16. I also loved the classics we had to read: Pride and prejudice, Shakespeare's plays, Of mice and men, Animal farm etc. However, now whenever I pick up a YA book, it's so glaringly written for a younger reader that I can't get through them, so I'm reading much much less. Anyone have any literary recs with good writing? I'm also an aspiring writer, and I know that the first stage to good writing is good reading, so.

(Only request is no explicit violence against women please!! It's allll we read in class, and I'm actually quite sick of it.)

    1. Have you read *The Brothers Karamazov*, *Great Expectations, Catch-22, Lolita* or *Jane Eyre*? Those are some classics that aren’t YA but maybe you read them already. They’re pretty well known lol.
