Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for Afghan books? I have a few books that have been recommended but all of them are generally about war, or grief or oppression which Ive already read a lot about in relation to Afghanistan. I understand that those things make up a large part of Afghan history but I dont want my only association with Afghanistan to be of turmoil/despair if that makes sense?
I want to know more about the community/everyday people, the architecture, the laws, the food, etc. I don't expect just one book to cover these things of course but wanted to offer some idea of what I'd be interested in. I'm very open to fiction and poetry by Afghan writers as well.
I would really love recommendations from Afghan people themselves or any literature students who specialize in Afghan literature. Thank you for your help 🙏.
