Maybe it's the adhd but I got 350ish pages into The Secret History by Donna Tartt before a few lines triggered my memory and I realized I had already read it lol. I know a lot of people say once they close a book to not ask them anything about the book bc they won't remember so wondering if any of you recently read a book where you were like oh efff I've already read this ! Just want to feel community about this lol 😂

I got 90% into Crooked House by Agatha Christie – just before the big reveal – before suddenly realising a) that I’d already read it and b) who did it
I was way, waaay into All the Birds In the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders before realizing Wait a minute…I’ve read this. I couldn’t remember how it ended so I kept going. Enjoyed the book twice. Might enjoy it a third time if my senility increases
I started *Snow Falling on Cedars* and realized after maybe 50 pages that I’d read it already. But my memory of it was so weak I think it had either been a long time or it had been a DNF.
I’ve also re-read books that I was sure I had read before but have zero memories and it ends up reading like a fresh book.
I suspect I have adhd, so there’s that. My biggest problem is that I forget the characters of a story within a week. I remember the atmosphere and/or moral or the book for decades.
