I work in a bookstore and have had a few parents coming in asking for books like Icebreaker by Hannah Grace or Colleen Hoover for their 12/13 year olds but they want to make sure what their kid is reading is age appropriate.
Any ideas for alternatives I can give to these parents whose kids want to read adult books? I've been recommending Fake Skating by Lynn Painter and Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon but I'm wondering if anyone else has some ideas?
Thanks!

Lynn Painter has ya books. Also Kristy Boyce has a great ya series, dungeons and drama, etc. Ali Hazelwood wrote a younger romance, Check and Mate. So did Casey McQuiston, I Kissed Shara Wheeler. Or you can always go in the murder direction, good girls guide, one of us is lying, etc. I HATE those Hannah Grace covers. They look so young and the books are explicit. I’ve read them, I like them, but I’m 44.
Meg Cabot books maybe?
