I feel like whenever I read classics (or modern classices) I either don't understand them or they are boring. So I looked through my classics and noticed I actually enjoyed the majority of them, the negatives just seem to stick in my brain more.
My favourites include:
Animal Farm (I've also read 1984, just liked it a bit less)
The Yellow Wallpaper
The Oddyssey (I didn't like the Illiad though, because it was just constant war and fighting)
Frankenstein (was meh on Dracula, it felt too long and the characters acted stupid)
Northanger Abbey (I've read almost all other of Jane Austen's works, so I don't need recs on those. I think this one was my favourite because of the gothic aspects)
Macbeth and A Midsummer Night's Dream (I didn't like Romeo & Juliet and felt neutral about Hamlet, but those are the only four Shakespeare's I've read so recs for what to read next from him would be awesome, too)
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (and Through the Looking Glass)
Halloween Party (my favourite Agatha Christie, Roger Ackroyd was my least faourite, because I didn't like the twist. Generally prefer Poirot over Marple, so if you got Christie recs, please!)
