Hi everyone. I'm trying to find a book for my Dad (technically a friend's dad, but I was there enough he counts) for Christmas.
He's not much of a reader, but he is trying. He's a mechanic and opened a shop just out of high school. Mostly he's been reading things about how to improve his business or biographies. He's getting near retiring, and his daughter and I are trying to get him to read more to relax into not working.
I want to try and get him some fiction books. I know he liked the Man in the High Castle TV series. I'm not sure if the book is different enough to get him that. I was thinking about the Forever War, since it was written by a Vietnam vet. I think that would interest him. He was not a vet, but bunch in his family. High Fantasy is out for suggestion. Scifi may work, but nothing too fantastical. He's fairly conservative.
Sorry if this is vague, but cars have been his entire life, and we are trying to get him to branch out a little.
