A character that’s very emotional, introverted, very much in their head. Very messy brain type of character that makes many mistakes, or dwells on little things. Something more focused on the character than the specific plot. Like Catcher in the Rye but modern.

Ryoka Griffin from The Wandering Inn might count. She’s the secondary main character in the series. (The main character might also apply, but I am less sure of that.)
