Doing this for research purposes. Books with characters that have traits of Milton’s Satan would also be greatly appreciated, so traits like:
– A tragic anti-hero
– Destructive
– Proud, but self loathing
– Introspective, intelligent, and self aware
– Charismatic
– Rebellious, having emphasis on personal freedom
The character(s) doesn’t have to tick all the boxes. Examples would be Byron’s Manfred, Maria Nikolaevna from Turgenev’s *Spring Torrents*, or Stavrogin from Dostoevsky’s *Demons*.
