Weird fantastic romance
​A book where the woman lives a normal, tedious life until… a man appears and takes her to a new, fantastical world. However, she doesn't really want this but have to (?). I wouldn't want her to be a heroine, but rather someone in a more 'realistic' situation, full of distrust, fear, and tension. If it has a Gothic style, even better.
​An example of the vibe I'm looking for is the moment (which might be a spoiler for those who haven't read The Vampire Lestat) when the human Lestat is simply in his room and, out of nowhere, a vampire enters and drags him away.
