Fantasy book that would get me into reading

The only time I’ve read books the past few years was for English in school, but I do want to start reading, because a lot of movies and games don’t scratch that fantasy itch I have.

I want to read something that is fantasy, because it’s my favourite genre of media. I’ve watched GoT and really enjoyed that so I was thinking of reading that, but idk if starting with an epic fantasy that might never get an ending is a good idea.

Ideally it would have something magical in the world, I know got doesn’t have that much magic but it has dragons so it’s cool. I thought about the Harry potters but idk if I like them that much for me to want to read it.

Any advice would be appreciated!!
