I'm currently reading The Road to Tender Hearts. Not even fifty pages in, I'm already obsessed with it. I also loved Unlikely Animals and Rabbit Cake and I'm a bit mad that she hasn't written anything else.
I love how her characters are written and how deeply she makes me care about them. The prose is great, not too flowery, and the themes of friendship and found family are some of my favorites. It reminds me a bit of Jodi Picoult's writing. What are some similar books that I should check out in 2026?
