My 2026 reading goal is to read mega famous authors who I have never read. I am talking James Patterson, Danielle Steel, Issac Asimov, Nicholas Sparks, etc. No matter reputation, I want to read these household name authors who, for some reason or another, I have never picked up.
So – fellow readers of the good, the bad, and the cliche – is there an author or book from an author listed above you would recommend?

I’ve heard abt Nicholas Spark..But never read his work..
If you read, do recommend me then.
well first of all this is gonna get removed and you’ll get asked to repost in r/suggestmeabook but a tip for when that happens, we kinda need to know which famous/household name authors you haven’t or have read already. like idk which Stephen King book to recommend to you because idk if you’ve read any Stephen King or not
The Caves of Steel is a good introduction to Asimov.
Foundation and I Robot are the classic recommendations but they’re both actually odd choices, because neither was originally a novel but instead they are short stories that are loosely connected.
Lol honestly, Danielle Steel is mega hit or miss imo. Some ppl love her cheesy romance vibes, but for me it’s kinda samey and predictable after a few books. If u wanna vibe with Nicholas Sparks tho, start with “The Notebook” or “A Walk to Remember.” Classic tearjerkers but lowkey addictive. Asimov is a whole different beast—if u like sci-fi, his Foundation series is a must-read, trust me. James Patterson is quick thriller kinda guy, great if u want fast-paced reads that don’t bog u down. Just my 2 cents but mixing it up by genre probs better than sticking to one author if u want variety!
