Hello all,
I am writing this after just finish reading BOBH.
I feel devastated. My husband is sleeping & I can't call my sister, and I need to write these feelings in to the void.
This book sent me on an emotional journey, questioning everything. The plot is truly original mixed in with the realities of our history.
I am by no means religious but this book made me question the ideals we hold today, making certain cultures superior to the rest. How history is bloodied with the taking of people, who are peaceful & close to the land. How even today the first nations suffer terribly, while we dwell & thrive on their land, taken forcefully from them.
The journey in this world for women, who were denied their rights over centuries.
Spoiler:
I write here the last passage that brought me to tears,
"Run ahead of me" he pushed Carra,
We are one people with one purpose Bayern had said, But the "we" was more than the Caldonnae, more than any coalition of tribes. It was Arras pushing Maeva a little further than he had gone, Maeve pushing Thomil a little further than she had gone, Thomil pushing Carra a little further than he expect to go, Maybe like so many people he had known, Thomil will not live to see the dawn. Maybe Caara wouldn't. Maybe it would be hundred generations before the sun rose on a life of dignity for their descendants, but the worthwhile run was not the sprint…
