History related to Japanese Manchukuo state or post-war Soviet labor camps?

I just read The Wind Up Bird Chronicles by Haruki Murakami. It gets into the Japanese occupation of Northern China and the Japanese prisoners of war sent to Soviet labor camps after the war. Do you have any historical fiction or non-fiction suggestions that on these subjects?
