Hi everyone! I’m hoping for some romance recommendations (open to MF and MM) that lean more emotional than explicit and balance romance with plot.
What I’m especially drawn to:
FMCs or MMCs who are sexually inexperienced, sheltered, or emotionally innocent
For MM, at least one MMC with limited experience. I know this trope is sometimes a little frowned upon, but I do really enjoy it!
Intimacy that happens after trust and emotional connection are established
A first intimate scene that’s tender, meaningful, and character-driven rather than rushed
Moderate spice. It's present, but not overpowering the story
A slower build without heavy push–pull or constant miscommunication
Action-forward plots: mafia, military/special forces, paranormal, suspense, thriller, etc.
A capable, protective MMC. Affectionate, intense loyalty, and very “competent energy” some might even say touch-them-and-die
Nice but not required:
Minimal or no third-act breakup
Not for me:
Cheating, love triangles, or body-betrayal dynamics
Historical or dystopian settings (I'll be open to suggestions though)
