I've been reflecting on myself and my past for awhile now and I've come to realize that I'm a very withdrawn, indifferent, selfish and an emotionless person, and I would like to change that. Specifically, I've noticed that whenever i have struggles or problems within myself i can't seem to communicate or understand how to feel to others. It's caused me to neglect and lose some of the most important people in my life which has put me in quite the depression.
I would like to improve my outlook on life and myself as well as becoming a better person to talk and communicate more clear and understand the emotions/desires of other people.
In short i'd just like to become a better me/person.
I have two weeks off of work so i would like to take this time to finally start reading again and explore myself, currently i'm reading "How to win friends and people" by Dale Carnegie and it's been real helpful to think about these principles when dealing with other people.
So my question is do you have any recommendations for books that might be able to teach me to be more self loving, compassionate and a better person/partner? I was recommended the book "Mans search for meaning" by Viktor E. Frankl by a friend but any other suggestions please let me know.
