I will start off with that I am not a big reader. I recently tried to read the Iliad and it was too much, unfortunately (short attention span/ADHD). I have really enjoyed some books but I honestly couldn't tell you the last one I read through. It was probably Paper Towns or the Fault in Our Stars or something.
I want to read more… I really enjoy period dramas with politics/war/romance and can't get enough of it.
I think I could read more if I were reading period dramas I am unfamiliar with – so books that have not been adapted to TV yet or ones I just haven't watched yet. I say this because I tried to read bridgerton after watching season 3 and just couldn't do it because I already ruined the book for myself by watching the show. 🤷♀️
For tv adaptations: currently about to finish Poldark. Have really loved Reign, Outlander, Pride & Prejudice, Bridgerton, Harlots, The Last Kingdom, The Empress, [Catherine] The Great. Stuff like that.
