I like the coziness of getting invested in characters' lives in a small town, especially a coastal town like in One Tree Hill. I just started watching that show for the first time and it is so pleasant to watch because of how cozy and intimate it feels. Honestly anything set in the 90's and early 2000s brings me so much comfort from the nostalgia factor. I'm also really enjoying the drama between the characters whose lives are so close-knit from it being a smaller town. I watched Dawson's Creek years ago and it gave me a very similar feeling.
So with that being said, I'm yearning for a book that has a similar vibe to these shows!
I'm looking for a book or book series that will make me feel like I'm stepping into the world of characters in a small (preferably seaside) town, where romance and friendship plots are the main focus, but family drama like the half-sibling drama in OTH, or the boy/girl next door drama in Dawson's Creek, are also major subplots or parts of the story.
(One caveat: I'm not interested in reading The Summer I Turned Pretty, sorry!! I know it checks a lot of the boxes I'm looking for)
