Hello good reading friends!
So I’m currently listening to The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden. Im not a big audiobook consumer but I’ve gotten into a few when I know I have a long drive ahead or am commuting to work alone.
I just hit Part 2 of the audiobook and I’m curious it the payoff is worth it? I’m super excited to see they just came out with a movie and I feel like it has potential, but is also just kind of falling flat. It’s definitely ramped up at the end of Part 1 but I’m getting more and concerned that it’s just going to end up being predictable slop.
Please tell me it’s worth it!

Keep going! That’s all I can say.
Fell into “fun beach read” territory IMO. Got a bit silly in the end for me. It ended up feeling like a more whimsical ‘Gone Girl’ type of story if that makes any sense. The trailers for the movie make it seem pretty much like a straightforward retelling.
The Housemaid reminds me of when you’re on Netflix browsing for something to watch and you’re okay watching something that’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 quality.
