So I've lately been really into dark romance, but oh god these books are like 200 pages too long, because same thing gets repeated over and over again. Books like Haunting Adaline and The Dominator start out strong, but then it just gets boring halfway through, because the MCs internal struggle is like a broken record and instead of adding any depth it just drags the story. So I'm looking for (dark) romance books that keep the story flowing and the spice is delicious! Don't hold back, I'm open to even the weirdest of suggestions.
I'm also looking for a good romantasy/fantasy series that either has very little spice or none at all. I don't think I really have any other requirements beyond that, but I usually prefer high fantasy (?) or whatever it's called when the story mostly takes place in a fictional world. I've already read acotar, ToG and The Cruel Prince. I've DNFd Fourth Wing, From Blood and Ash, Shadow and Bone.
For either book I'm open to straight or sapphic romance!
