Hi all
I’m looking for recommendations for reading. Any type or genre of writing is fine, be it fiction, non-fiction, philosophical, classical, historical, biographical, fan-fiction, whatever (not poetry please). I want something that makes me think, something that makes me see a different perspective on a certain topic (any topic), that is engaging and written well. My reading comprehension is not the best and I haven’t read in a while, but I want to start again.
If it helps, something I don’t want to read is when I can tell the author’s writing is overly complicated on purpose, and I can tell they’re full of themselves. I’m fine with any writing style as long as it’s written well. I’m also fine with any complexity of writing, I can always read slowly and Google concepts and words I don’t know. Saying that, I’m also not looking for anything that you cannot understand without an extensive knowledge of a certain topic (university level physics with no simpler explanation given, for example). I am also fine with something from any time period, I don’t care if it was written yesterday or 500 years ago (within reason, I obviously don’t know how to decipher ancient texts, and I struggle with Shakespeare). I also prefer other perspectives over 1st person writing but I will still read it if so.
Basically, if you’ve read a piece of writing that spoke to you, or changed your perspective on something and you would recommend everyone read it, please tell me.
Thanks 🙏
