I am 42 and my daughter is 22 and we are looking to start a book of the month club between ourselves.
Our favorite is fiction, horror, historical fiction. We have read The Hunger Games, Harry potter, twilight, lemony snicket, the Odd Thomas series, a little bit of this, a little bit of that.
I was speaking with another 20-year-old and she recently found the Coraline books and she has been completely enthralled in them. Would that be a good recommendation for my daughter or is it geared towards a younger crowd?
Please help by providing references to books that may be interesting for the both of us. I don't mind reading books that maybe intended for young adults for the sake of spending time with my daughter.
Well she does enjoy horror she does not want to have nightmares every night when she puts the book down and we aren't opposed to reading nonfiction.
Basically I'm looking for something easy reading, engaging, something we could possibly Bond over. We don't belong to a library even though we live within the city we are outside of the city limits and therefore our library cards cost about $150 a month.
Any help is appreciated!

sounds like some Shirley Jackson books would be good
The Eighth Life by Nino Haratischwili! It’s about the red century in Georgia, a multi generational family saga. Beautifully written and gripping.Â
