Please read the "FICTION" part. There are tons of non-fiction books about disappearances, but I'm looking for fiction books about them. So no true-crime books!
I'm fine with any kind of fictional disappearance story (solved, unsolved), any fictional setting (fantasy, modern, scifi, historical), and while I myself am an adult, I don't mind reading books meant for a younger audience, as long as they're engaging.
For example, I've read "The Disappearance of Winter's Daughter" by Michael J. Sullivan.

“Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn – I cannot say anything more because it may unintentionally spoil something for you!
Pirandello “The Late Mattia Pascal”.
