Chances are that he won’t read it, because I know I wouldn’t have (and I was a goody-two-shoes nerd), but:

      * Becoming a Critical Thinker: A Workbook to Help Students Think Well in an Age of Disinformation by Julie Bogart
      * The Media and Me by Project Censored and the Media Revolution Collective

There’s also True or False: A CIA Analyst’s Guide to Spotting Fake News by Cindy L. Otis, but it is geared towards adults and probably won’t be as interesting or accessible for him.

What about listening to a podcast with him and then discussing it? Kind of like a mini book club but with a podcast? I recommend The Rabbit Hole from The New York Times. It’s exactly what you’re looking for, but I don’t remember if there are any parts that would be inappropriate for his age, so you might want to listen ahead.

The description of the first episode is:

*A young man finds escape on the internet. He doesn’t realize that on the other side of the screen, a force is pulling him in.*
