My husband loves pirate documentaries, movies, and tv. He’s finally become a reader lately (after years of me trying to make him one. I am thrilled my hard work has paid off). I am a big fantasy reader, but have never really read much in the realm of the golden age of piracy. Like black beard, East India Trading, Jolly Roger, Anne Bonny age of piracy.
Does anyone have any suggestions for good books about piracy? Fiction, historical fiction, or non fiction that reads like a novel. I think straight up non fiction would not be his vibe.

Pirate Hunters is super awesome. Same author, Robert Kurson, wrote what’s probably my favorite non-fiction book ever, Shadow Divers.
James L Nelson’s *Brethren of the Coast* trilogy
Howard Pyle’s book of pirates.
Pirate Latitudes by Michael Critchton
The Adventures of Amina al-Sarafi by Shannon Chakrabarty (it’s about piracy in a different time period and part of the world but it’s my favorite pirate novel ever)
Treasure Island obviously
For nonfiction The Republic of Pirates by Colin Woodard is good
And if your husband hasn’t seen Black Sails (I imagine he has) he should get on that ASAP
Captain Blood is definitely worth reading, although there is some racism.
