I’m reading Dracula at the moment and I’m really enjoying it! I did have some difficulty with the prose/language at the start, but there is enough plot and dialogue for me to follow through. But I couldn’t really get into Wuthering Heights for that reason, if that is any metric.
Any other good must read supernatural classics that aren’t too difficult?

And the more you read that old-timey language, the easier it is to understand/follow. Listening to an audiobook helps a lot, too, because the narrators do a good job of putting emphasis in the right places to clarify the meaning of the phrase

Sometimes it helps to keep a reading notebook abd when you come to a word or phrase you dont understand to write it in your notebook by page number the word and the meaning or meanings you looked up. Also keep a section for miscellaneous notes if something interests you or you would like to know more about it.
The Beetle by Richard Marsh maybe, published the same year as Dracula
