looking for my final read of the year and hoping to find something that feels like a total page-turner but still has some substance to it. some of the books i enjoyed that i think fit this category are daisy jones & the six, yellowface and the idiot (elif batuman). i want something that flows easily (or just keeps me super engaged) without being too fluffy or superficial. for reference, i read eleanor oliphant is completely fine this year and it just wasn't for me. also, english is my second language (and i'm planning on reading in English) so even though i'm used to this, i wouldn't want my last read of the year to be a hard to grasp one, language wise). would love to hear your favorites that fit this vibe!
