Hello! I need book suggestions, i’m very new with only having read books that my school had me read in like middle school haha. I had been very interested in reading for a while but i’m finally trying to jump that hurdle of getting started. So here’s a little about myself.
I’m 23, creative, into music and fashion. Currently trying to make it big as an EDM Dj haha. I am super into my creative side and all i want is to have that be my career. I’m a big raver and just love being with the people i love and just doing the things i love to do. I tend to think about life, meaning, and my future all the while sometimes forgetting to live in the now.
Things that i like: Fallout, GoT, The Sopranos, Godfather, RPG games in general, Sucker Punch games, Music Festivals, Elder Scrolls, Breaking Bad, Cowboy Bebop, Jujutsu Kaisen, movies like Inception, I love movies about musicians no matter how bad some of them are.
I like stories that stick with you, the kind that make you pause and think or change how you see things. Strong characters, Moral tension, and themes like purpose, discipline, good vs evil, belief vs doubt really interest me.
Open to fiction, fantasy, sci fi , philosophy, spiritual and honestly any genre because i’m so new to this. I also wanna read the must read books that most readers probably have read. I know zero about books but i feel like it will be great for self improvement and it’s just what i want to do.
I’m happy to answer any questions just lmk. Thanks so much for any help provided <3

Since you’re on the EDM DJ path, maybe some music history or commentary books to inform your potential future sampling?
I’ve read and enjoyed:
The Holy or the Broken: Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, and the Unlikely Ascent of Hallelujah by Alan Light
I haven’t read these, but they both made a big splash and look both in depth and philosophically large:
The History of Rock ‘n’ Roll in Ten Songs by Greil Marcus
How Music Works by David Byrne
