I'm writing the sequel to a book (Area 17, for those who want to learn more and read it), and in short, the plot unfolds in a place where almost anything is possible. And you can enter it through portals in the city. But creatures emerge from Area 17 and devastate the city. What city can I use as a reference and cite? It has to be modern with skyscrapers, but also unique and unusual. Don't say Tokyo or a city in China; say something in Asia but not something obvious, or North America or Europe. Thanks.
