I can’t play piano but a book with a slight piano theme that I recently read was *All the Living* by C.E. Morgan. It’s about a woman who moves in with her lover in a small town, but she’s an excellent pianist. Piano isn’t the main focus of the book but it is a strong part of her character.

    2. Play It Again by Alan Rusbridger. I haven’t read it so I can’t recommend it, but it seems to fit your criteria. A journalist’s self-challenge to learn Chopin’s Ballade No. 1 in G in a year.

One I have read and can recommend: A Dream About Lightning Bugs. It’s the autobiography of Ben Folds. If you’re not already a fan of his, then maybe not, but I am and I enjoyed it. His playing has inspired my playing.
