I never liked reading much growing up, I'm not much of a reader. When assigned reading back in school, I pretty much did everything in my power to not turn a single page except for the book Into the Wild. Something about that book definitely grabbed my attention and I've probably read it about a hundred times since as in flight entertainment on business trips.
I should probably read another book. I do still read sometimes, but usually just boring as shit business books which I suffer through to pretend I'm getting better at my job. I want to start reading for fun. Are there any other books like Into the wild you would recommend?
I am not sure what appeals to me about the book. It could be the philosophy, the adventure, maybe I just fantasize about quitting my shitty finance job and living in the wilderness lol, who knows.

Endurance by Alfred Lansing
The Long Walk by Sławomir Rawicz
Into Thin Air by Krakauer
I can’t repeat read often, but I do feel like you’re describing exactly my taste in books.
If you want a (vaguely) more comedic look at the same sort of principle the utopia experiment is about a guy trying to start a fully off grid community in scotland.
I also downloaded a collection of John Krakauer long form articles on the Kindle, some were more interesting than others but might grip you (to be honest I find this style of writing is quite often found in long form articles, are you in the sub for those as well?). And Into Thin Air by Krakauer as well suits the nature + wtf brief.
The Twenty Ninth Day by Alex Messenger.
I’d try the other Krakauer books. Into thin air, under the banner of heaven, and where men win glory are all excellent books.
