Barbarian days and among the thugs are two of the best books I’ve read in the last decade and I’m trying to find a book that scratches the same itch. I think what I enjoy about them is the way they both teach the reader about their subject (surfing, and English football hooliganism) while also drawing out much deeper meaning about life in general through this gonzo journalism style. They’re like part memoir, part journalism, part how stuff works, and part philosophy, all wrapped up in great storytelling that kept me hooked front to back. So yeah, I’d love if anyone could suggest me something like that. Thanks!!
