First and foremost happy holidays to everyone!
I'm looking for recommendations for historical fiction books set in the Dark Ages/Viking-Era or Roman Britain. I'll also take any Viking Era historical fiction books.
I'd really like them to be grounded stories with politics/warfare/ and daily life front and center to the storyline.
I've read and really enjoyed novels by Bernard Cornwell (Mainly the Saxon Stories) so anything in that vein would be great, but I'm also open to lesser-known authors or more literary takes.
I've spent the last year rekindling my love for reading, and reading a ton of Fantasy/Adult Fantasy, and I've always had a love for British history (points at my BA in British Medieval Law, though I use my B.S in Engineering more) so I'm looking to add a few books to the "to-read" shelf for next year in this vein.
Thanks in advance and again happy holidays to everyone.
