I love the Christmas atmosphere, but I'm tired of the same predictable holiday rom-com plots. I'm looking for a book set during Christmas that's in a different genre, a ghost story, a family drama, or even a sci-fi or fantasy novel where the holiday is a key part of the setting.
Something with the vibe of The Stupidest Angel by Christopher Moore or a classic like A Christmas Carol, but not those exactly.
Any recommendations for a festive but truly unconventional Christmas read?

Forgive me for the sin I’m about commit, bringing up a movie in a book suggestion thread, but I read your post and immediately thought Fatman(Or time to Die Fatman; can’t remember which) Mel Gibson plays Santa Claus and that’s all I’ll say. I think it’s exactly what you’re looking for. And for a book, try The Stupidest Angel: A Heart Warming Tale of Christmas Terror by Christopher Moore.
