I know it’s not the same as getting real connection but somehow I used romance novels to satiate that need to helplessly swoon and live through characters. Hot mafia aloof and charming deadly lead males and helpless rescued damsels in distress. It’s cheesy but it worked. Then I fell in love with a real human and the luster for romance books lost its charm.
It’s winter and cozy and I’m just helpless. I want something to consume me mentally and give me butterflies in my tummy. I miss that gripping feeling and feeling my face flushed with all kinds of feelings unable to put the book down, melting at how heartwarming and thrilling it all feels. I couldn’t even eat lunch or dinner without sticking my nose in a book like that.
I tried some of the hottest and smuttest series but it feels bland. I want something that seriously feels thrilling and gives you goosebumps. Not just shallow or surface level commercial writing.
Any suggestions?
