I recently had my first genuinely good experience with a self-help book.
It was a Danish book written by a hypnotist about how to “hack” your brain into thinking more positively.
Now I’m looking for something that can help me work through anger and envy.
Not envy in the sense of jealousy, but more the feeling of wanting what other people have—especially socially—which often turns into anger. There’s also a lot of anger connected to trying to accept the cards that I have been dealt in my life.
I have ADHD, so long, fluffy, or overly complicated books don’t work well for me.
In the Danish book, the author used stories to support the theories, which I really liked—it made the ideas easier to understand and much more engaging.
