Phantasma is a romantic fantasy. I thought the magic done and experienced by the main character was different and interesting

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Great fantasy read with interesting magic as a major component. Great book, good sequel, still waiting for book 3. If you need things to be complete this one isn’t for you.

I honestly didn’t love the books after the first one, but the magic in the Broken Earth trilogy was super cool.

I’m not really into books like this myself but thoroughly enjoyed The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Thought that had some interesting magic in it for sure.
