In the 90s there was an abundance of trashy "from hell" thriller movies: the girlfriend/boyfriend/nanny/neighbor, etc., "from hell" (not literally).
Basically a person or a couple got their lives destroyed by an obsessed psycho in one way or another. They usually had elements of erotica, danger and criminal activities, but the setting was mainly domestic. The focus wasn't on police procedure, blazing guns, or car chases. And they weren't primarily noir in tone, like a lot of other 90s erotic thrillers.
Some examples: Dream Lover, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, and Poison Ivy.
After the 90s craze settled down, the "from hell" motif became a staple of Lifetime thrillers. The cult favorite "Stalked by My Doctor" is a modern example (that I recommend! Especially part 3, lol).
Can you recommend me some trashy thriller novels in that vein? It doesn't have to be exactly what I described here, but I'm not interested in supernatural erotica (like sexy vampires) or "girl gets seduced by rich hunk who teaches her BDSM." That's a trash bin for others to dig in.
