Comedy book recommendations

I’m looking for recommendations of comedy books that aren’t written by celebrity comedians. I’m looking for a book that’ll make me laugh out loud, like when we were kids and we laughed so much while reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid or Captain Underpants. Basically I’m looking for the adult version of those. I usually mysteries and thrillers, and I want to take a break from them.
