For context, I don't read a lot. The first book I read was Stephen King's Carrie earlier this year and right after I finished it I got Flowers For Algernon as I read online that it's regarded as an amazing book. Now to be fair I've only read like 12 pages so far, but I really need some motivation to keep going. Is Charlie's situation gonna take a long time to "get better"?

Please keep reading. It’s tough in the beginning but the text gets much easier to comprehend. It’s a very important lesson to learn, keep going. I love that book.
It’s short. May as well finish.
I’m not sure how much to tell you so I don’t spoil it but 12 pages are too few to get an idea if you like it or not. Continue a bit more. It’s not “amazing / mind blowing” but it’s a good book and story that I enjoyed and that I’d recommend. It gives you a new perspective to look at life and those around you and it’s sad that leaves you thinking after you finish it.
Don’t stop! It’s a great book, so emotionally deep and, I’m not going to lie, heartbreaking.
It’s so short and especially easy to read through in the beginning. Keep going!!
It’s such a good book, please keep reading! Just reading this post makes me want to read it again. It really gives you great perspective as to how we treat people.
The language progressively gets better along with cognitive capabilities. Hang in there!
No one has to read any book, no matter how good it is.
I love Flowers for Algernon. I think it is a great book. But you don’t need justifications to quit. Just quit if you want to and it will be fine.
No; it’s a good book in the sense of lessons and overall themes, but it’s not an entertaining read.
Find something that draws you in from the get-go. Life is too short for reading for pleasure to become a chore.
One of the most gut wrenching and incredible books
