Is A Song of Ice and Fire still worth reading if I already know a lot of the major spoilers?

I’m wondering if the book series is still worth reading despite already knowing several big plot points.

I watched Game of Thrones up through season 4, so I already know about things like the Red Wedding, Ned Stark’s death, and Joffrey’s death. I’ve also picked up other spoilers online (Jon Snow’s ending, certain character deaths, etc.).

For people who’ve read the books—does the story still hold up even when you know these things going in?
