As the year comes to a close, I realize I didn't really read much that has caused me to think in new ways, or to venture to other places in a visceral way. I'd like something like that!
Here are some of the books that I've read that I consider transformative, most recent being The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff:
East of Eden by John Steinbeck
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell
In Ascension by Martin MacInnes
1984 by George Orwell
Watership Down by Richard Adams
The Crossing by Cormac McCarthy
Siddhartha by Herman Hesse
Our Share of Night by Mariana Enriquez
Beloved by Toni Morrison
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Thank you! Please know I've read or intent to read other books by these authors and am aware of their catalogues, so anything outside of their works would be awesome!
