Literary female-centered romantic awakening

Looking for books that are female-centered, emotionally intense, old-fashioned writing, naive heroine, experienced men, passion without explicit sex. Literary, not romance genre.

Think Gone With the Wind, Valley of the Dolls. I also would group Normal People in this category for some reason, though it’s contemporary. I’ve loved all three of these- I think for the common “romantic awakening” in each heroine, and the literary, somewhat clinical description of romance.
