Bit of a strange request but I recently read The Moor's Account and enjoyed the sense of place evoked for the chapters set in southern Spain and Morocco. Any other books come to mind that evoke that sort of Moorish or biblical (if in reference to the Middle East) period?
I've heard good things about Robert Irwin.
